Zavala Leader News and Frio Nueces Current: Week of July 14, 2008
Discussion:
A pretty warm forecast is in the cards for most of South Texas during the
forecast period. A strong area of high pressure will pretty much dominate the
weather pattern. The ridge of high pressure will decrease in intensity a bit by
the start of the new work week and allow a slight increase in moisture/humidity
across the area and an slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the
afternoon. Best rain chances will exist Monday into Tuesday. The increase in
cloud cover that will occur during the latter half of the forecast period will
also lower temperatures just a bit. Expect daytime highs in the upper 90's to
100 and nighttime lows in the lower to mid 70's.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 98. Low 74. Southeast winds 10-15 mph.
Friday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 98. Low 73. Southeast winds 10-15 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 100. Low 75. Southeast winds 5-10 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny and continued hot. High 100. Low 73. Southeast winds
10-15 mph.
Monday: Partly cloudy and hot. High 99. Low 74. A 20% chance of showers and
thunderstorms. Southeast winds 5-10 mph.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy and hot. High 98. Low 73. A 20% chance of showers and
thunderstorms. Southeast winds 10-15 mph.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High 97. Low 74. Southeast winds 5-10 mph.

Carrizo Springs Javelin: Week of
June 16, 2008
Discussion:
The hot and dry weather will continue for the area as a broad ridge of high
pressure stays put over northern Mexico. The heat will likely not let up during
the forecast period as this weather pattern changes very little. By the end of
the forecast period, will see partly cloudy conditions creep into the area as a
bit more moisture comes back into the area. Do not expect to see any type of
shower or thunderstorm chances throughout the forecast period. Daytime highs
will range from 100 to 103 and nighttime lows will be in the mid 70's.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 103. Low 76. Southeast winds 10-15
mph, gusting to 20 mph.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 102. Low 75. Southeast winds 10-15 mph.
Friday: Partly cloudy and hot. High 101. Low 76. Southeast winds 10-15 mph.
Saturday: Partly cloudy and hot. High 102. Low 77. Southeast winds 10-15
mph.
Sunday: Partly cloudy and hot. High 101. Low 75. Southeast winds 10-15 mph.
